With our proven technical and engineering expertise, ViaCon’s StormWater Solutions and products are designed to meet the challenges of stormwater management.
Our offerings cover solutions ranging from stormwater retention and infiltration, fire-water retention of oil and sand separation.
Flash floods have become more common due to the onset of climate change and can cause unimaginable damage to our build and natural environment. Retention tanks are used to prevent such floods by temporarily storing large amounts of rainwater and releasing it into an existing sewer network or natural environment. Retention tanks are built to last and can have a service life of up to 150 years. Another term for retention tanks is levelling tanks and they are indispensable to solving the problems caused by drought and increased precipitation as a result of climate change.
Infiltration tanks are used to store large amounts of stormwater temporarily and then the water is infiltrated out to ensure that it infiltrates the ground. With climate change and the increased amount of precipitation it brings, this type of tank is absolutely necessary to prevent flooding.
A relatively new area of use for stormwater tanks, but aims to channel rainwater from hard surfaces such as parking lots, roof irrigation from buildings, etc., to a collection tank. After possible purification or filtration, the water can then be reused for eg irrigation of green areas, cooling or piped back into buildings for other use. The structure of the tank is the same as for other tanks, but the area of use separates them.
Rural areas with little to no access to a water network are vulnerable to fires especially during extended dry periods. Firetanks are horizontal underground structures used to store water in the event of a fire. They can be equipped with several types of pumps or a suction system according to the needs of the enviroment.
Oil and sand traps are tanks used to collect and filter contaminated stormwater and then release it into a sewer system or into the ground. With the increased rainfall, oil and pollutants accumulate on concrete surfaces in urban and industrial areas and are flushed into the groundwater where it pollutes the environment.
